Promise Ministries Faith Focus

The promise of life which is in Christ Jesus (2 Tim 1:1)

Our Mandate
We believe we have been commanded by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to evangelize and equip disciples for Christ (Matt. 28:19-20. Since Scripture commands us to Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them (Hebrews 13:3), we must include prisoners in this mandated focus. Therefore, we believe the Lord has called Promise Ministries to evangelize and equip prisoners to live for and serve Christ while enhancing the ministry of the God-called Christian Chaplains who serve as their pastors.

Our Methods
EVANGELISM: We want to reach prisoners with the life-saving, life-changing truth that Christ changes repentant sinners who come to Him by faith. We accomplish this by:

  • 3-page personal letters sent to prisoners that write to us or that ask us to send them to a family member or friend

  • Sending tracts into prisons to chaplains or prisoners with a prayerful please that they give them away

  • Evangelistic Edifying in depth Bible courses written with the sole purpose to win the reader to faith in Christ

  • Sharing Jesus course that equips a prisoners with an ABCD plan for sharing the Gospel of Christ- hands on

EQUIPPING: Once we are confident a prisoner is born-again child of God, Promise Ministries will shift our focus to equipping them to live for and carry on ministry for the Lord Jesus. This we do by offering:

  • 3 Tuition Free Bible courses featuring 3 separate study tracks (Biblical Studies, Ministry, Prophecy)

  • Booklets, tracts, and other literature specifically designed to train champions for Christ, whether in prison or out into the FREE WORLD

  • Personal counseling and mentoring. The goal of every letter or package leaving our office is that of encouraging prisoners to live faithful and victorious lives for the Lord Jesus. When prisoners write to us with problems or questions, we address each one individually, providing encouragement and edification through literature and letters specifically addressing their problems with God's Scriptural solutions.

ENCOURAGEMENT: We do not seek to replace Christian Chaplains that we believe to be pastors for prisoners. We simply come along side them as an additional resource ministry to assist them in evangelizing and equipping their "flock" for serving Jesus Christ. At each level of our study program, our graduates are encouraged to remain in contact with their Chaplain, eventually leading to an optional Chapel graduation ceremony. We offer Chaplains:

  • PMI study reinforcement- Our entire program- forms and courses- for download from this website or from a CD (all Word .doc formatted- FREE download at )

  • Friendship and fellowship- in the form of a shepherd's shoulder as they pray over and plan their ministry to inmates

  • Tracts and literature- for evangelism, equipping and encouraging the saints in Christ

  • FREE resource materials- we buy and collect new and used books, tracts, sermons, Bible teaching, and misc literature for use in prison libraries. Chaplains are encouraged to contact us for listing and shipping arrangement.
