JESUS IS THE
JEWISH MESSIAH Is Jesus the Messiah? There are 324 verses in the Tanach that describe Jesus Christ as God, prophet, man, virgin born, as the Messiah and others that depict His work of miracles, suffering and type of death, as well as the reason for His death. Genesis 3:15 is the first verse with reference to the Messiah’s birth, his power, divine nature and that he will be injured by Satan and will defeat Satan. Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. 1. Her seed – this is the only place in the Tanach where the
pronoun “her” is used in front of the word “seed.” All other places referring to
offspring of the mans name or the pronoun he or his is used. 2. Since it says “her seed” it refers to there is no man involved with this conception.
The fulfillment of Genesis 3:15 comes into view in Isaiah 7:14. Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (God with us). Jewish rabbis argue that Christians use this verse totally out of context saying that the woman is a virgin. They say the Hebrew word “Almah” used for virgin in this verse does not mean a virgin, but a young woman that is not necessarily a virgin. Not to mention “How could a virgin conceive a child?” The answer is somewhat simple: THE WORD FOR “VIRGIN” IS ALMAH In Genesis 24:16 describes the character of Rebekah, the future wife of Isaac. The Hebrew word for damsel in this verse is “Arah,” which means “damsel, maid or young woman.” Not necessarily a virgin. The Hebrew word for virgin in the verse is”Bethuwlah,” which means “maid or virgin.” Bethulah cannot mean virgin in Joel 1:8 because the word is used for a young widow lamenting. Genesis 24:43 Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink; The Hebrew word virgin in this verse is “Almah,” which means “damsel, maid, virgin.” “Does God have a son” a Jewish person may ask. Because they believe that God is one in person and character. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image Genesis 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language,
that they may not understand one another's speech. The Jewish rabbis will say the LORD was talking to the angels. Trouble is angels cannot create and angels were created. Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. The son that is given to Israel has many significant names that can only refer to a divine person with a divine purity, with divine power and a human existence with a power to rule. The names given by inspiration of Jehovah Himself allows us to know that this individual is God himself. Only the LORD could have the attributes attributed to these names. His names: There shall be peace his government, in his throne and in his kingdom which shall have no end. Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Christ as the Angel of the LORD Genesis 22:11-12 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. Angel of the Lord – seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son
from me. Angel of the LORD appeared – LORD saw that he turned aside to see. Exodus 23:20-21 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. Angel of the LORD - Will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. Judges 2:1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. Angel of the LORD – I will never break my covenant with you. Angels never made a covenant with Israel or anyone. Isaiah 52:4-6 For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause. Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed. Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I. Rabbis say that ‘My People” is spoken of is collective singular here. Isaiah 53 explained through Jewish rabbi thinking Vs. 1 Israel is the arm of the Lord The nations have numbered us as sinner and murdered us because of their beliefs. This could not refer to Israel in these verses. In English we would never transpose singular pronouns for a group, nation. That would be confusing. Psalm 2:7-12 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. The Sonship revealed in Psalm 2. The LORD hath said:
Who possibly could have a righteous indignation against those that refuse to
fear the LORD. Proverbs 30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? Who hath ascended into heaven or descended? What is his name? And what is his son’s name? Isaiah 53:1-12 47 times the pronouns He, Him and His is used. No where in Scripture (The Tanach) his Israel as a nation ever called by
these pronouns. He Him His He - a male previously mentioned The Jewish rabbis like to believe and say that chapters 52-53 is speaking strictly about corporate Israel because Israel is called the LORD’s servant in many places. Of course the rabbis have to discredit what we believe to be true.
Isaiah 44:1-2 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen: Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen. Isaiah 44:21-22 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me. I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. Psalm 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. Rabbis teach that by these verses Israel is redeemed from their sin all we have to do is return to him.* *Copied from http://www.jem-missions.com/is-jesus-the-messiah/
